He fell thru the ultimate loophole. A lot of people don’t know but if you are born overseas you are a citizen but you need to go to a US Embassy and your parents have to sign a form acknowledging you were born to US parents abroad. After 9/11 this was a big deal.
You have 18 years to get that form and (or)get a passport/cleared. If you go past 18 years you may not get citizenship. This happened to a girl I knew years ago who also had a parent not a citizen. She almost got deported until they found the doc.
