Just talked to an agent regarding updating a policy. With regards to firearms, it was stated that if you don't notify the agency of the firearms you have with serial numbers beforehand if there is a fire or issue where your home is destroyed, they will only cover $1500.00 worth of firearms in total.

Period.

Something to think about but, my pushback is that the government already tracks the firearm purchases, so disclosing to a stranger(agent or database) of what I have created a vulnerability for someone to try and come to said home to come up on your items.

He agreed but only shared the information regarding the policy. So consider making sure you have your items cataloged and placed in the cloud, which still does not resolve the issue of the $1500.00
