Consent Form
​​Please take a moment to read and sign the consent form to complete your application in becoming an active member of North Star Arms Association. Your participation is important to us, and we look forward to having you on board! Thank you for your attention.

1. You understand that dealing with or learning how to deal with guns involves both
classroom style learning and hands-on learning.
​
2. You must agree to abide by and obey any instructions the gun club outlines when
participating in any in-person field events.
​
3. This document serves as a general liability waiver and additional waivers may be used
for field events.
​
4. You must be able to possess a firearm according to all Federal laws and Texas state laws.
5. Some basic State and Federal laws that prevent a person from possessing a firearm
include but are not limited to: a felon, a person convicted of domestic violence, a person
that has been diagnosed with a mental illness, a drug user (This includes marijuana & if
someone is addicted to prescription drugs), a person court ordered not to possess a
firearm, anyone dishonorably discharged, and non-citizens.

6. Any special circumstances such as record expunction, must be validated and approved
the Club President before being admitted as a member.
​
7. Any special circumstances for membership are strictly at the discretion of the Club
President and does not guarantee membership.
​
8. Membership in the Club can be revoked at any time for violating membership rules and
its criteria or if the Club members that are holding leadership positions all unanimously
agree that, a particular person is not a good fit for the Club for any reason.
9. If your membership is revoked then no refund of membership dues will be given.

10. Any membership dues are paid on a yearly basis on 365-day cycles.
​
11. You must be and stay current in the payment of any Chapter dues to be considered an
active member of the Club.
​
12. We encourage you to get active in the group. Once the payment is made, no refunds
will be given and your membership will be active for one full year regardless of your
participation level within the Club.
​
13. All Club members in their second year and beyond will receive no refunds for their
yearly membership dues once it is paid by the renewal date regardless of their
participation level.
​
14. If applicants are husband and wife, each person must sign separate applications and
consent forms and pay Club dues as a separate person.
​
15. This consent form is only required to be signed the first year of membership; however,
the rules and criteria apply in perpetuity as long as you are a member of the Club. If
inactive for over a year, an updated consent form may be required.
​
16. All members must be treated with dignity, respect and courtesy without slander.
​
17. You must be 21 years or older to be a Full member of the Club.
​
18. Anyone 18-20 years of age cannot join the Club without a Full member agreeing to be
responsible for them and their actions. Also, a person within this age group cannot
attend field events without their responsible Full Member’s attendance to supervise
them. Anyone that falls into this category will be considered a Junior Member.

19. No member, except the Club President, is allowed to speak with any form of media
about the Club or for the Club in any capacity without the expressed permission from
the Club President.
​
20. Any and all media inquiries must be referred to the Chapter President.​
​
21. Any person that holds a leadership role agrees to perform their duties in a professional
manner to the best of their abilities.
​
22. New rules and criteria can be modified at any time but only if all of the members
holding a leadership role agree to the change. Then and only then can a new rule or
criteria be added, removed or modified from that point forward.
23. All new members must sign and date this membership information and consent form
which signifies that you have read the terms and understand them fully and are signing
voluntary of your own free will and sound mind without any ulterior motive, pressure or
duress of any kind.
24. You can withdraw your membership at any time with a written letter or email affirming
this.
25. When entering chapter Zoom calls all members are required to have their name
entered in Zoom to allow us to identify you as a chapter member to accept you in t
chapter Zoom meeting.
